Neighbourhood Snapshot

Harbourfront real estate is great for walking around, people watching, and just taking in all the sky and water. Sure, you might often run into tourists, but the city funded enhancements in the pathways, lights, and general infrastructure are some of the bonuses of living in a tourist-heavy area. Harbourfront real estate is streetcar accessible and close to Union Station, making it totally commuter-friendly. The Gardiner Expressway is also right there, but the gridlock makes transit the favoured option in the area.

What Makes It Cool

This is the nautical heart of Toronto. Tourist-filled tall ships, party cruises, and sailboats make this a unique spot in a city where the waterfront has not exactly been used.

Might Not Be For You If...

You’re looking for a spacious detached home for your family. When it comes to Harbourfront real estate, it’s condo or bust.

Meet Your Neighbours

Harbourfront real estate is home to a more mature crowd; you’ll find a lot of couples and rec-focused singles in the area. With jogging trails, kayaking, and a never ending stream of yoga events, this neighbourhood was made for healthy folks.

Highlights

Steam Whistle Brewery. More than one member of our team has been married here–we clearly enjoy their products. This brewery is located in a historic brick railway roundhouse and offers tours with tastings and a beer shop.

Harbourfront Centre is an artery in Toronto, playing host to some of the best festivals and workshops in the city. It is a place that is loved by many Torontonians, and is kind of a mini village of arts and community.

Okay, so the boat rental is technically a part of Harbourfront Centre. But this is basically a must-do if you want to claim Toronto as your home. Rent a tiny powerboat with space for two and look forward to realizing the water between the island and the Harbourfront is way choppier than you thought it would be.

Toronto Island provides the feeling of a mini vacation–and it’s basically an Instagram playground. Since you can't live on the island itself, this is the best area to drop anchor for quick access. Take a quick ferry ride and you are in a tiny seaside village with restaurants, boat rentals, tandem bikes and an old-timey looking lighthouse.
